Visit to Tungareshwar: Mythology, Vastu explained, theorised!

I must say I was lucky enough to have been able to make this trip to Tungareshwar, a collection of five mountains housing some very holy temples like those of Shiva, Kal Bhairav (avatar of Shiva), Jagmata temple (avatar of Parvati, wife of Lord Shiva), the Balyogi Sadanandh Maharaj Matth, etc. My father and I went together. This place in itself gives out an immense amount of positive vibrations that you can literally feel, no jokes at all. The temple is 2177 feet above the ground and is a lovely place to be.

I’d explain my experience further by considering everything both spiritual and scientific, since I’m a little mix of both. I have included a small video on my trip there, below.

As I reached the temple, I grew fonder because I knew I was there on a mission; it was my aim all along. I wanted to make sure that I found out so many more unique things about the place, as I had in mind that such a revered and holy place that not too many people know about definitely has something more than what meets the eye. The analysis that I’ve made below about the scientific aspects and the observations relating to many other things may seem far-fetched, but keep an open mind.

I am dividing my observation into parts:

Summary of the visit and the energy:

The only sound one could hear at 7am was the sound of insects. The weather was pleasant and I was in luck to have found a tour guide of a rickshaw driver! As he mentioned in the video, he had been visiting the temple for fifteen years. There were two ways up to the temples; one commonly used to walk and the other by which vehicles could go and since we were fortunate enough to get a rickshaw willing to go up for a good price as he was a regular, we decided to go by the vehicle road.

There was no one on their way up at that time in the morning. It was a very calm and serene journey up-hill. When we reached the mandir too, there was perfect silence.  I began to admire the location of the Shiva temple; it looked like it was built somewhat in the middle on a plateau. As soon as we reached the foot of the temple, there was a pandit called out by the locals and others as ‘Deepak Maharaj’, Deepak being his name. I told my dad to ask him something, since my Hindi was rusty and I’d tend to fumble trying to speak the perfect Hindi that they do. My question was, what was the reason behind building this temple? He said since he’d stayed there, there was a lot that he learned about the mythology of the place, dating all the way back to the Puranas, an ancient Indian text like the Vedas. The Puranas had various stories that involved this local area, and a few other Gods and Goddesses from here as well like Ek-Vira, Jivdani, Nirmala, etc.

History of the place; Mythology

The Pandit suggested that the place was very sacred because Lord Parshuram was said to have visited this place and there is a lot of account of him even locally throughout the area with respect to the places he meditated at, bathed, traveled and discovered. Parshuram is said to be the sixth avatar of Vishnu and Parshuram Jayanti is celebrated on the 23rd of April. He is said to be an axe-weilding Rama. About Parshuram; during his time, there were said to be a lot of demons that lived deep in the forest areas, and Parshuram is said to have slayed a demon named ‘Tunga’ on this very mountain. In his honour, the temples were built. The area is said to have had Lord Parshuram bathe under the wonderful waterfalls and a particular kundh (place where water from hot water springs collect). The goddess Nirmala was also saved by Lord Parshuram. She has a temple to the west of Vasai and the place Nirmal also got its name from her. Parshuram with Shankaracharya also did ‘Samadhi’ (meditation) at Shuparak, which is taken as Sopara or Nalasopara, one train station ahead from Vasai, though it is not. Shuprarak is a village by itself.

Another myth of the place is so: Lord Hanuman, the monkey-faced God, was asked to bring a ‘jadibooti’ or herb for Sita since she was ill, by Lord Rama’s guru Vishvamitra. It was to be got off a mythical mountain called ‘Dronagiri Parvat’, but because Hanuman couldn’t tell which herb it was exactly, he picked the whole mountain and began to walk. Meghnath, son of Raavan, the seven headed (or by different tales, different number of heads!) demon from the south who captured Sita in the Ramayan, was the one who shot at Hanuman. One piece of the ‘Parvat’ or mountain fell here. In Indian mythology, the gods were said to be the size of ‘chiranjeevi’ or giants. When one leg of the Lord Hanuman was here, the other was at Wada, approximately 40-50km from Tungareshwar!

Sacred geometry, “yeh sab toh ganith hi hain!”

I wondered why the pandit consistently kept mentioning the fact that everything in our lives, even the construction of the temple, etc, was all just simple math. We’re familiar with the great pattern and that how everything is a grand design, a mega interconnected geometric construct that is just playing, like a tape, our lives out, every single day. So then we are a bit on track with what the pandit is saying. He also said that there is a math behind the construction of the temples, although it is one that we aren’t familiar with also. I wanted to ask him what he was talking about and how the placement of the various temples happened, but he just spoke away so I said never mind!

I did manage to find some crazy things out though. Whoever built the temple was certainly deep and onto something extraordinary. This person has used certain symbols that are said to be a part of ‘Vastu Shastra’, an Indian art related to the placement, directions and construction of a place so that it absorbs and is receptive of the positive energy of the environment. It is also said that the right placement of furniture, pillars, etc keeps the people happy, healthy and wealthy. There are certain mandalas and drawings that vastu uses on the floor, totems that can be places in various areas, etc. You can say more broadly it is like ‘feng shui’ but a different method used in India.

The pandit told me that there was a place in which he sits and meditates, a spot where his mind moves and works best in a meditating state. It is the place right in front of where the Shiv lingam is kept. I went over to the spot and noticed two of these drawings on the floor, in the middle of which he sits.

One was on this circle with an eight sided pointy star and 24 diamond shapes around it. The first thing that came to my mind was Edward Leedskalnin’s flywheel. Edward was a man, who claimed to have known the ‘secret of the pyramids’ and how they were constructed. He wrote a book on magnetism and built the coral castle in Florida, an amusement park made out of carvings of a peculiar limestone that you get on that strip of the country, all of which weighed between 5-20 or 30 tons. The best part still is that he constructed this entire place BY HIMSELF. How? No one knows, but he used this flywheel that has 24 magnets, North and South poles attached around the center. The flywheel had a handle at the center. Using this with other part of equipment he used, he could do the most unmanly work of lifting these huge stones up by himself. Looks like he has a little secret there that he didn’t tell anyone! Did this make the stones lighter? You might wonder what resemblance this has with the picture from the mandir. I couldn’t be too sure myself as I am only theorizing and not stating for sure, anything. But one thing is definite. The ancient Indian rishis knew way more in science than we do today, and every discovery is only a rediscovery today.

In these temples, the ‘current’ that the pandit was talking about had to do definitely with some kind of unique magnetism or for that matter, electromagnetism, since our bodies are conductors of electromagnetic energy. The pandit said that there is constantly a sort of current that only some people can feel. All of our bodies have a unique electromagnetic signature. How this diagram and Leedskalnin’s work turned out so shockingly similar is a mystery. Maybe Leedskalnin procured some ancient knowledge, or maybe it in fact, has no resemblance at all, though I beg to differ. Whoever at the time, maybe those who developed the Vastu Shastra had enough knowledge to be able to come up with diagrams related to geomagnetism and natural earth energy manifestation .

I also found an old drawing depicting a drawing on astrology and constellations marked Bethlehem 1800 A.D. This describes eight houses of the constellations as known before.

I still wondered what the eight-pointed star in the center resembled and that is when I turned to Vastu Shastra, suspecting that on the floor was not just a design but something more. I found a diagram denoting the eight directions as we know it.

I had a compass with me, so I made sure to check, and as according to the diagram above, the drawing was rightly placed, East upwards. The next picture I took shocked me, because I was unaware that this is even today not fully understood!

Some geophysics for the soul! This next Vastu symbol struck me as the drawing to the right. For those who haven’t heard of the 19.47 degree  phenomenon, I advise you to read this further to understand it better. On the sun, major solar activity is said to be seen on 19.47 degrees North and South of the equator. On Mars, the largest volcano in the solar system is said to be located on this very latitude. The Cydonia complex on Mars is also on this line. There is a lot of heat, and supposedly a major chunk of the earth’s energy is said to be concentrated on this latitude, North and South of the equator. The most active example of this as explained by Hugh Newman in his book ‘Earth Grids’ is Hawaii’s volcanoes. We have active hot water springs here in Maharashtra on this entire strip.

What’s exciting to know is, the temple of Tungareshwar lies on 19.43 degrees N, almost on this line itself, hence the immense energy is felt.

This symbol used in Vastu is nothing more than a mere representation of this. The Magan star or the Star of David, the holy symbol of the Hebrews, is also a six-sided star that represents this naturally laid out sweet spot of the grid! I do think what is supposed to be an inverted triangle though is a way of showing the circular portions of the earth. What still remains not justified is the vertical triangle in the center. But then yes, I had seen that somewhere too! One of the five platonic solids, the Isoscahedron that fitted as showing earth spots, had a triangle in the center.

Isocehadron

Also the Vastu has one particular Yantra that shows a six-sided star in the center called the Vastu Devta Yantra (the God Yantra), which made the image make sense. Are specialists in Vastu recreating images of the concentration of energy diagram, giving it to people to place in their houses and using it as some kind of good luck charm? Does this earth energy really come to life by using diagrams of it?

Da Vinci, in his works too, took help of this to understand
human anatomy. Co-incidence?

When I asked the pandit about all these holy temples that have rich energy all being along one line in the country (19.47 degrees North), he said he had no idea what I was talking about, yet he knew for sure that those symbols were of Vastu. He didn’t know the symbols were made to show that energy was concentrated on the 120 degree angle and the six-sided star was drawn to depict just that! Actually most of the world doesn’t know this! He told me that fate had led me to study this and my journey had begun, which made me very happy inside! I must continue my research, he said!

Vastu Devta Yantra
The pandit sits between these two symbols and meditates. Could the symbols be working on him for the better, and do they have some additional extraordinary effect on him?

There is a term used for these kind of drawings and mathematical constructions, called Sacred Geometry. Read further, check experiments out and you will get lost in a whole new science!

Theories:

As Amish Tripathy, writer of the Shiva Trilogy once told me, “Of course there is life beyond our earth. It would be rather arrogant for us to say that there is no one else in the universe besides ourselves!”

For people who are here to read from the point of view of a plain travel blog, I am sorry for having given you unexpected information!

I hope you guys are familiar with shows like Ancient Aliens. If not, do give them a shot! There is a bit on India too! A part where they talk about how Indians used mysterious weapons, like those of modern technology or some that haven’t been developed yet in warfare, flight, etc.

Many texts around the world say that giants existed. The Bible says giants were the offspring of when earth woman mated with fallen angels and were termed ‘Nefilim’. Many middle-east and Egyptian texts also talk about gigantic kings and rulers. The Gods in India were also said to be super-sized. Some of them even genetically altered offsprings, but all that for another time. Maybe the Gods who came from the sky were actually those that came from somewhere else. They are whom we today term as ‘aliens’. There is a strong possibility.

Sacred Geometry has been part of our culture since, FOREVER. We just haven't learned about it yet. I shall write more further in more weird posts that I'll be making. Until then! :)

  4. I am amazed at the amount of knowledge you have portrayed here. I have recently got used to a number of terminology that you have mentioned here. What you call Star of David (I have heard the name before), we use it in South India to draw a kolam (rangoli made from rice flour) in front of the altar. It is called the symbol of Lord Murugan (Read Lord Karthik in the North) who is depicted with all things six as the number symbolises him and his powers. This Star of David incidentally has six tips and this supposedly wields a lot of power. Drawing this kolam brings in a lot of powerful positive energy into a home. Great going! Hope to read more and more!

    1. I'm not so aware of much to do with South Indian scriptures and books, but it's great to know a story I would have probably never come across! It's so interesting to know so many ancient cultures around the world and even within one country have so many ways to describe the SAME symbols and drawings.
More coming soon, for sure. Thanks for reading! :)

  15. A workplace is a place where you spend an immense amount of time and is a reflection of your activities as an individual and Vastu for Factory, Vastu for Home. An ideal Vastu workplace helps an individual to increase their efficiency and effectiveness, by creating an environment that is attractive, comfortable, helpful and peaceful.
